On a Personal Note…A Tad About My Journey

Yoga with my daughter Aila

I had a successful career in pharmaceutical sales working for a large, international corporation, which I’m forever grateful for the knowledge that decade provided me. In 2011 my mother’s breast cancer diagnosis prompted me to take an inventory of my own health and wellbeing, which led me to enroll in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition followed by the CME accredited program at The School of Applied Functional MedicineI took the leap to start a new career and opened my integrative health coaching practice in 2013, originally in Hoboken, NJ, and in 2015 relocated to Monmouth County, NJ.

I spent years suffering from an undiagnosed thyroid condition, crippling period pain from undiagnosed endometriosis (masked by BC pills), which led to infertility and what some would consider “early menopause” at the age of 44. Perimenopause started as a concerning level of depression, insomnia, and chronic pain. It wasn’t until I revisited the foundations I had learned from my training, such as nourishing my adrenals, regulating my nervous system/limbic retraining, and addressing childhood trauma that I started to get relief. Despite all the lifestyle redesign which helped alleviate the intensity of my symptoms, my depression persisted and my sex hormones remained in the tank. As someone in my early 40’s who’s mother had breast cancer no-one would give me bioidentical hormone replacement therapy -I had to advocate for myself.

In addition to spending time with family and friends, I love traveling with my husband and daughter to the west coast of Florida, Europe and Vermont.  I have a heart felt passion for dancing and music, which I believe is an undervalued tool for deep healing and relaxation.  I love being out in nature hiking or power walking the boardwalk in Asbury Park and Ocean City New Jersey.
