When I added the oh so mighty Vitamix to our wedding registry I was asked, “why is that blender so expensive?” Well anyone who owns a Vitamix knows it’s an insult to refer to it as a blender! Makes soups, jams, peanut butter, salad dressings and even ice cream! (I get into some mint chocolate chip from time to time.)
3c water
1c raw almonds
organic agave, honey or maple syrup to taste (optional)
Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
Select Variable 1
Turn on machine and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High.
Blend for 40 seconds or until desired consistency
To obtain commercial-style almond milk, strain the milk through a nut milk bag or pass through a fine mesh sieve.
